24-year-old attacker could sign new contract amid Man Utd interest
Aston Villa have offered Jack Grealish a new £100,000-a-week contract in a bid to get the attacker to reject a move to Old Trafford. U21 England international was Aston Villa’s player of the season as Dean Smith’s side survived PL relegation on the final day of the season.
Red Devils have tracked Jack for the last 18 months and the Norwegian has been impressed by the manner in which the attacker took the burden of keeping his boyhood club in the league last term. However, Man United have cooled their interest in Grealish after Villa demanded £75m for the attacker, with Red Devils valuing him at closer to £55m.
Nevertheless, though a deal is not close, Aston Villa know they must keep the 24-year-old player happy, particularly as he’s keen on a move to Man United. However, Aston Villa’s billionaire owners are ambitious and they do not want to lose the English playmaker, as they fear it will be harder to attract other footballers to Villa Park.
Jack currently earns nearly £70,000-a-week at the club and he’ll be offered a five-year extension worth £100,000-a-week. Jack is ready to speak with the club in the next week to discuss his future in the Midlands and though he’s keen on a move to the Old Trafford, Aston Villa’s survival has significantly boosted their opportunities of keeping him.
Dean Smith has reportedly been given a budget of around £100m this summer and the owners will give him an extra £70m-£80m if Jack Grealish is sold.
